Potatoes Au Gratin

BBQ pork ribs, slow cooker recipes, southern food, cheesy potatoes au gratin
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  2. Butter or use a non stick spray to grease the casserole dish
  3. Slice potatoes 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Take half your potatoes and layer the bottom of the casserole dish, being sure to over lap potato slices
  4. Slice or dice an onion (your preference), and layer on top of the potatoes
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste
  6. Layer remaining potato slices over onions
  7. I prefer to salt and pepper the top layer of potatoes as well
  8. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and salt. Whisk until mixed thoroughly
  9. Add milk and stir till thickened
  10. Add cheese and stir until melted
  11. Pour milk/cheese mixture over potatoes
  12. Cover casserole dish a foil and cook in preheated oven for 1 hour
  13. Remove foil and cook an additional 30 minutes, or until top starts to brown
  14. Enjoy!
